Lowest monthly tarrif on Orange?
Hi guys, my wifes bills are costing too much with Orange, so going to get the sim only £15/m One Plan with Three for her. I will be phoning Orange to get them to put it on the lowest tarrif they have and see out the contract. I am far enough into the contract to do this. Just wondering if anyone knows what I can get the monthly cost down to? Thought i'd ask before I phone them so I have an idea.
Thanks
Thanks

it depends on a few things
1) how much is the contract just now?
2) what handset did she get "free"?
3) how far in to the contract is she?
most mobile providers have really restricted people downgrading their tariffs, as the high monthly costs subsidise the "free" handsets provided with the contract.0 -
Yeah, just phoned them, they will not go any lower than £27/m, doh!0

Have you had the text about changing terms and conditions? If so you should be able to request a penalty free cancellation. See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/48888620

Can you not only request the cancellation if the tarriff price goes up?0
-
Because they are changing the terms and conditions in a way that is detrimental you should be able to cancel without penalty.
Depending on when the contract started there are a couple of arguments- Pre Oct 2012 contracts said prices can be increased by a measure of inflation not published since 1996 - any rise was not enforcable.
- Post Oct 2012 contracts said prices can be increased by the lowest inflation published by the government - CPI is normally below RPI
The change says they can increase by upto RPI without allowing penalty free cancellation. In both cases, this allows them to increase the price by more than before, therefore the change is detrimental. Have a read through the thread I linked to.0 -
