Welcome to mfw! I think as long as you are respectful of an inheritance and use it as the person (people) would want you too then it's amazing blessing.

Hello MuserThats exactly my opinion on inheritance. I think we are doing exactly what they would have hoped we'd do. Thanks for subscribing :T
Been out for tea to a local Italian restaurant that we visit every Sat early eve. We've been going for about 14 years on and off, and regularly since the kids arrived. They do a brilliant happy hour and kids menu, all quality food cooked in an open kitchen. DS is mildly Autistic and its a social space he functions well in, we all look forward to it so it's a good spend. Other than that and the purchase of some chocolate chips for bun-making purposes it's been a tight purse strings kind of dayLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Hi Roaring, your local Italian sounds fab, how lovely that you've been going there for so long. It sounds like you and your Oh have a good plan and 2016 is not long away at all. Good luck!

Hi,
This may sound crazy as I don't know you but I an thrilled that you have been given such an amazing gift! Many people dream of being able to do this for their children/grandchildren and so on and it is lovely to know what a difference it will make and that you are continuing by freeing yourselves of debt. Truly inspirational. I hope to see you have mortgage freedom very soon!0 -

Hello teabody! Thanks for your kind words, that's definitely the way we've chosen to look at it - to try to not feel guilty at what we've received because it's our dream to be able to do something similar for our children and (hopefully!) grandchildrenLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Well the last few days have been completely NSD (that is No Spend Days isn't it?!) largely because I've been in bed I with a nasty throat and ear infection and fever
Am coming round now, thank you Alexander Fleming :T So total spend from me since Sat is £7.85 to the NHS for my prescription!
I didn't eat for three days so I've lost a bit of weight which would generally would be a cause for celebration except for the fact that I've just invested in a few new clothes in the M&S online sale, hoping they fit when they get here! Since DD was born and my shape changed (again) I literally don't have a thing to wear (said in that high pitch exasperated female voice :rotfl:) Also got a few bits for the kids for coming seasons in the next couple of sizes up, all 30-50% off so a good time to buy.
Hope to contribute to a few other diaries when time allows, again, I'm thankful of the inspiration others on this board provideLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -

Thanks Mrs RT, doing much better now, in fact I keep forgetting to take my anti-biotics which is always a good sign of recovery!Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Well it's been quite a frugal week in as much as I've been in the house and not going mad spending £1 here and there at toddler groups
We'd put £600 aside a while ago for a secure external bike store (after some unforgivable little personage [ahem] broke into our shed and stole ours last year :mad::mad:) but OH has now taken one bike to work to get a cycle in during her working day, and the other one isn't taking up too much room indoors, so we're thinking of paying the money off the mortgage instead. If I can get another £400 together by the end of the month that would be a further £1k off which would bring us down to £19,801 as of 1st April. I've sold a few bits on eBay so that will help. Fingers crossed :T
Hope everyone's well and enjoying the nice weather if you're lucky enough to get it not that I'm jealous or anything :cool:Life is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0
