BT Representative please - installation infinity

Hello,

We had infinity broadband fitted on Monday 27thJanuary 2014.

The engineer fitted a new master socket (not sure what it iscalled) in a different room.

He connected this socket via some new wire to the originalwire outside using a connector on the external wall. The engineer said theoriginal wire was old and wanted replacing.

He said he would order a new wire to the telegraph pole andan engineer would come and fit a wire in one piece to our internal socket. Hemade this order while at our house we saw him do it. This was all to be donefor free as part of our infinity connection.

No one has been so we have infinity broadband connected toour house via a wire with a join.

We telephoned BT. The gentleman obviously did not understandas we got a call from “Openreach” saying they had been told the wire had fallenover the road and it was an emergency, as it was not an emergency they said wehad to phone BT again which we did.

The engineer thought a new wire was required but we are notable to contact Open reach direct and BT is doing nothing. No one seems tounderstand that the new wire was part of the installation.

Please can you help us.

Is the broadband working ? If so, I would imagine that its possible that Openreach have it booked as a low priority job, or it might require specialist equipment that they are waiting for.
  • Try Btcare on Twitter, they take a couple of days to phone you back but they have been excellent with my line fault and it beats talking to somebody reading from a script
