I had a delivery once that said "INBIN" in the signature field, at first I thought it was some sort of delivery office speak, then the penny dropped. Luckily the dustbin hadn't been emptied.0

You need to be proactive here.
Use Twitter to contact MyHermes and ask them to investigate.
Ring them and try and find out where the parcel has been delivered.
*This is more than adequate for Ebay to refund and close the case in the buyers favour.0
