My extremely painful experience so far correlates with the public opinion.

Charged my credit card, cancelled my claim, wasted my time and repairs still not done. Rude staff, and "data protection" is the answer to most questions.

Beware, and avoid.

    What's the full story?

I thought Quindell only provide hire car and not repairs?

My experience is completely opposite of yours they were very promt and kept in touch every week when we recieved hire car didn't even ask for any card details, staffs were helpful too

Did your insurance company refer you to them?
  • No, they called me after the accident.

Now, many months after the no fault accident they have refused dealing with my claim and have declined to give a reason for doing so.

    Can they really do this?

Who is fixing the car now?

What's wrong with the replies you have been given over your problem in your other threads (you now have 3 threads on the same subject)?

Why is it impossible to get it back, your card issuer should at the very least consider a request for a Chargeback?

They have just done this to me saying its the cost of fuel for returning the vehicle back to the depot, surely this is not right
  • I've been exposed to an unbelievable number of mistakes made by Quindell in processing what should have been a tiny/simple/straightforward claim. Having Quindell manage my case was painful. Unfortunately trying to recover costs experienced as a result of their errors is ridiculously painful as well.

When your loses work out to be more than the cost of your insurance, then it is definitely time to avoid companies that use Quindell. By all means use companies like Swindon Insurance, but if you have an accident.......then good luck with Quindell! Only then will Quindell start improving the quality of its service.

Quindell merely manage processes. It's almost as it they're trained monkeys. As long as the process is standard, and there's a defined process for it, then it'll cope. If not then your stuffed!

I suspect the complaints process is:

    1. Say it's someone elses fault.

    2. Apologise on the phone (never in writing).

    3. Carry out a review....and offer a random payment of between £10-£50 as a goodwill guesture.

    4. Refer you to the ombudsman.

    5. Ombudsman can merely tell them off for making mistakes, so you'll never recover your costs.

    6. Take it to the Small Claims Court. Fortunately a report from the Ombudsman helps with the Small Claims Court....assuming that the information has been accurately passed by Quindell.

    7. Yay - you get a result, and it has cost thousands of pounds to recover the couple of thousands that you were owed?
  • Quindell's customer contact approach was so poor that I declined to deal with them.
    1. I get a text informing me that my insurer has asked Quindell to contact me and here's an 0844 number for me to contact them!
    2. IVR is in a cross between supermarket announcement voice and airline safety talk voice.
    3. They don't answer the phone very quickly, but why should they? They're are making a decent hourly rate from the 0844 call charges while you listen to bad music on hold.
    4. The staff member I talked to sounded like she was replying to the headmistress in infant school assembly in her best first year sing-song voice!
