1. No fault accident; this fact has been accepted by the 3rd party.
2. Broker's agent has been dealing with the claim for over 4 months.
3. Now they have come back to me stating that the claim is cancelled and they will not be dealing with it. Declined to provide any reason whatsoever.
4. The next day the underwriter stated that they have no knowledge of the 3rd party involved in the accident and that if I want the repairs I should pay £300 excess (much higher than on the policy). !!!!!!, really?
What happens to NCD? What footprint will they want to leave on my file?
I have paid for the premiums - I demand repairs.
What are my comebacks?

not sure where "scam" comes into it....post #4 in your other thread tells you everything you need to knowInsideInsurance wrote: ».........Your policy book will give the official complaints process and their telephone number
but I'd write and keep it succinct0 -
What's wrong with the replies you have been given over your problem in your other threads ( you now have 3 threads on the same subject, breaking the site rules on "spamming")?

Regarding point 1 above, if you mean the third party insurer has accepted liability, then you can contact them direct to pursue your claim. But if you mean the driver accepted liability, then this stands for little or nothing.
And on point 3, you will have agreed your excess when taking out the policy and this is always an uninsured item (which you need to pursue the 3rd party to reimburse you).
Are you sure the £300 being requested doesn't have both voluntary and compulsory excesses? If not, then obviously don't pay more than was agreed originally.0 -
Why have you not complained about it ?0

Point taken.
Can't get much information from my insurer, they seem to have lost much of it of never had it. E.g. no record of a 3rd party being involved - !!!!!!, really?
FSO is now dealing with it.Regarding point 1 above, if you mean the third party insurer has accepted liability, then you can contact them direct to pursue your claim. But if you mean you mean the driver accepted liability, then this stands for little or nothing.
The 3rd party's insurance has accepted liability. Called me to confirm this.
However nothing in writing at all. Either from 3rd party of my insurer.0 -

....
Pesuming you mean FOS, they won't deal with the third party insurer or the claims management company who have now washed their hands, and as you don't appear to have put in a claim to your own insurer (as you are not happy to pay your excess) the ombudsman cannot deal with anything for you!0 -

Ok, that's interesting, let me better understand this.
I take out an insurance from what I thought was an insurer, but turned out to be a broker. They send me a card with a number to call in the event of an accident. I did call that number and they took the details of the accident and the 3rd party. Somehow this handler starts calling me offering repairs and then walks away 4 months later.
Where did it go wrong? And why are we talking about excess if it's a non-fault bump?0 -

FOS won't deal with your complaint unless you've been through the complaints process with the insurance company and they've had the 8 week period to investigate and issue a final response.0

As previously explained, your excess is something you agreed to pay in the event of a claim for damage to your car.
It isn't covered by your policy.
If you want your insurance to do the repairs then you pay the excess.
If there is a liable third party then you can pursue them to reimburse your uninsured losses.
It appears that there is now some reason why the third party are disputing liability as your claim handler has pulled out.
From what you have told us your insurer looks happy to do your repairs but is correctly wanting you to pay your excess.0
