This can't be right? talk talk 0844!

Ive recently been charged 75p a minute from my mobile to call an 0844 number with talk talk. The number is a van insurance company called gladiator.

Talk talk state on their webpage that its 35p to call 0844 numbers.

Ive been on their talk talk community where they have told me the 0844 number will be forwarded to a mobile number and will be classed as a personal number and Im correct to be charged at 75p. The reason the company do this is so they dont have to advertise the mobile number instead!!!!

So they advertise an 0844 number which is forwarded to a mobile and im charged 75p when I think im being charge 35p.

This cannot be legal!

Yes Talk Talk Mobile charge a wacking 35 p a minute to call 08 numbers. They shouldn't be charging you anymore then that,its not possible to change the cost of a call in mid flight so I suspect their is something wrong with their billing system.


The number would normally be pointed at their geographical number in their call centre. I don't know where the got the idea its terminated on a mobile ,then again never did trust some of the advice given on TalkTalk members forums.

WeQ4u is most definitely your friend here! A genuinely useful free app that can save you loads of cash. I've just tried the 0844 Gadiator insurance CS number and through no problem on the assigned 0330 number (included in your mobile call allowance). But the best bit? Get stuck in the inevitable queue and simply press 9 and * and the app suspends your call (thereby not charging you mins from your allowance!) then rings you back once a CS bod answers your call. A brilliant idea that takes the saynoto0870 concept to a whole new level..
