How long has your account had the markers dazla?

Do you still have an arrangement?

There must be some way to get rid of accounts like this otherwise it will stay on my credit report for the rest of my life!?

    HI

I spent an hour on the phone with Barclaycard last week asking them to remove my AP markers and change them to a default, they were adamant that they wouldn't do this, they say as I haven;t actually defaulted. I kept on at them about how a default would be better for me, but they were having none of it. I even mentioned this site and the ombudsman but to no avail. Hope you have better luck

Just stop paying them until they default you.

They can't report AP markers if you're paying nothing, that's not an arrangement is it? This goes to show they just trash peoples credit files for as long as possible even if what they're doing is absolute nonsense.

Yes, it was an arrangement, but for some reason the last direct debit did not come out, and I just realised. It's been as in post 3 since 2007.

Even so it can't be an ongoing arrangement if you've never paid anything. When an arrangement breaks down they're supposed to default you.

They can't default you!!! If they do, they'd be in breech of the ICO guidelines on defaults as it has to be placed within 6 months of the first missed payment. Granted, this doesn't normally stop them!

My advice, settle the debt, then demand the APs be removed otherwise you'll make a formal complaint to the ICO for a breech of the Data Protection Act for failing to report a debt accurately to the Credit Reference Agencies. I've found it's easier to get companies to make corrections to credit records, if you don't owe them anything.

Barclaycard have simply replied saying "Thanks for your letter.. the outstanding balance is £15.. if you require any more assistance let us know".

That's it, no reference to AP, credit ref agencies or removing anything.

I suppose I'll have it pay it, or it will just be on my credit file forever?
