I would agree Indie Kid, the wording is
'it is only payable if there are no other children aged under 16 years in your family'
it is not explicit about partners children with other women but I would assume this was included under the term 'your family', maybe looking at a claim form would clarify it.0 -
Having had a look at the form it only asks about children under 16 in the household (Part 6)which I would think means living with you, but clarity will be needed.0

i got a bit confused ha on my partners last tax return info we wont get anything which is fine but based on a hospital porter job we will be okay i think.
the rules to first child only count in the family if you get ctc or cb for an existing child if that makes sense, so for us i am entitled because i don't have a child that i get child benefit for nor does my partner as the children live with there mum and she gets the cb and ctc for them if that makes sense.
