I wonder if Tesco will make it available on clubcard points?Life is like a box of chocolates - drop it and the soft centres splash everywhere0

If you go to http://www.twotogether-railcard.co.uk/leaflet/ and use the code, you can get 10% off the railcard, so it'll cost £27 instead of £300

I wonder what happens when your travelling companion drops out at the last minute. How do they calculate the additional payment before you board?0
-
So instead of renewing our senior railcards at a cost of £30 each we can get one of these new cards for £ 30 as long as we always travel together which we do.
Have I got this right?0 -

Yes ! BUT - the new card cannot be used during morning peak times. There may be other restrictions but I haven't read all the Ts & Cs.0 -

You will need to pay the one third that has already been discounted before using the other ticket.0 -
Terms and condition
'Discounts are not valid for travel between 04:30 – 09:30 hours, Monday to Friday'
So what's the point of having this if we can't use it on a daily basis travelling to and from work. Utterly useless.0 -

It's aimed at leisure travellers, not commuters. Commuters already effectively get a discount by buying season tickets.0 -
I think it's usually cheaper and more convenient to drive when you have two people or more.
If I wanted to do a weekend trip London to Edinburgh, I have to take a bus to the tube station, then tube to Euston. Obviously, for two people with luggage I would just call a minicab, minimum fare £5. About £20 if we wanted to drop off in Euston. Let us say it cost £50 for all the extras at the two ends, getting to and from the stations, for TWO people.
London to Edinburgh return by car is about 850 miles, or £110 in petrol, but that's door to door. To match this, the two return tickets have to cost £110 - £50 = £60.
So, the full price ticket needs to be £45 return per person, so that it is £30 per person after one third off.
Conclusion, one third off makes sense for one person, but two people will probably be better off driving.
Or, go by Megabus if you can get their £1 deals. On second thought, no. I did a National Express bus trip London to Glasgow 35 years ago: never again.0
