Double your MoneyBack From ASDA on returned Meat

Sorry If This Is In the Board , anyway , we have always shopped at asda and found that there Meat seems to have a tendency to go off before the sell by Date ,especially the mince meat (Asdas Own), so after a few months off buying various meats and just throwing them away because they smelt. I decided to take this Chicken Breast Back ,and did it smell (oh Yes!! it smelt allright!!!) ,so i took it to customer services who were very helpful , and they told me that if there meat is off ,ie before the sell by date they will give you DOUBLE the money that you originally paid out !!!!, But this is not very well advertised as i would of taken many thinngs back in the past , so everybody out there if the meat is off take it Back and get Double your money .

They also stock air freshener behind the customer service till aswell ,as i had a chuckle to myself as saw the Asda Girl spraying it like it was going out of fashion.

I've noticed this about Asda's mince as well - very annoying! Last time it happened, I phoned up their customer services and they sent me a £5 gift card, but to be honest, I don't think that was so great as I had to throw out the mince (not the cheap stuff either), go and buy it somewhere else, plus all the hassle...

I don't really buy meat from Asda anymore.

tescos mince is the same. i think they mince all the off cuts which have been mixed up together and some of the meat isn`t as fresh as the rest. then this starts to go off first and turns the rest of the mince.....well my theory anyway...

I think after having two lots of rotting meat I would have stopped buying it there.

    Me too.

I haven't had a problem with Tesco mince. I had a pack in the fridge and realised on its use by date that I wasn't going to need it just then so I popped it in the freezer. It still looked fresh but I promise to come back and say if, on opening it at a later date, it is inedible.

I bought a joint of beef last year, from Asda, it went off before the sell by date, so took it back, they gave me a better cut of beef and my money back. Tis good customer service

Over a number of year I have experienced the same problem, mainly with chicken from my local Tescos. Despite a number of ruined meals and special journies to replace items they have never as so much offered anything additional to refund the price - even an apology is rare.

I don't think ASDA are much worse than the others, although I've never had a problem with Sainsbury's, but at least ASDA recognise their mistakes and compensate for them.

Why do some folk keep buy c**p meat from asda.
Surely if you stop buying it, start buying it from a local butcher even if it out your way (at least we wont have lost another one), asda and the others that try this will stop it and start to provide better quality, keep buying it and they think everythings ok.
