Hi, There are several chains of cheap hotels in France. Cheapest is Formulae 1 usually not en-suite, we like the B&B chain they have some family rooms, all en-suite, secure parking, breakfast is extra but worth it, look at their website, ring 0033172365106 for central English speaking reservations. more expensive is Camponile but we don't think it is worth it.
    Have a good time.

I have stayed in the Ibis in St Omer. There is a fish restaurant round the back of the hotel, and the clams in white wine sauce are delicious!

very central in the old town of boulogne- 5 minute walk from speedferries depot, individual rooms and good friendly service. self service breakfast was excellent- about £50/room we had a family room for 3ads and a child and were very happy for 2/3m nights
