morning all, this feels like the longest weekend ever, and its really getting me down, had kids off school since thurs which dosen't help. fed of of having no life, no friends, nowhere to go, same old boring staying in, kids playing games, me putting on a fake smile, but wanting to do something more exciting, than sitting on my fat ar*e watching them playing computer games, there gotta be more to life than this

Sorry to hear about that - ((((big hugs))))

The best thing is it doesn't last forever but it seems that way just now. Can you get help with the kids?

:hello: LittleOne83 (((HUGS))) Sorry to hear that you're feeling so low. Did the Doctor refer you for counselling? Are you on any medication at present? The way you describe how you're feeling are classic symptoms of depression. Do you have a good support network of family and friends?

What an amazing career you are training for. When will you become a qualified midwife. Are you having any problems with it at the moment or is the work side of your life all OK?

    Thanks for the hugs.
Yeah dr refered me for counselling, just have to wait for something to come through the post from mental health. We discussed medication and both agreed that counselling and sorting out my issues would be the 1st priority. Have to go back in 2 weeks with a questionnaire that is also being sent in the post because the printer at the surgery was broken, then i dunno what happens. Don't know what to do between now and then.

Have told a couple of friends, 1 of whom has had treatment for depression in the past and has been great and 1 who's on my course who is now totally ignoring me. Haven't told my family, we're not close in that way, such a secretive family that it's the norm to keep most things from them.

Midwifery is amazing and seems to be the only thing keeping me going. At the moment the work side of it is ok, though we've just entered the worst 6 months of the course. I'm seeing my tutor on tuesday, just to make her aware and to discuss the support available etc. I know weegie.geek suggested taking a year out but I honestly think that would make things worse. I qualify october 2009, almost half way!

    juno hope you're ok?
