Speedbump
I've just turnt into my road of a main road, doing so the bottom of my front bumper got cracked and scraped going over the speed bump they have put in place! I now have a cracked/scraped front bumper, I just had a matte wrap job on my car last month. The bloody bump has been made to high, the majority of cars going over it are getting their bumpers scraped, I can hear the noise from my window .
Is there anyway I can get compensated?
Who do I contact in regards to the high bloody speed bump that has been made?
The white line indicates the height and where bumpers are getting scraped.
The type of speed bump.

Some support from neighbours would be useful along with height measurements and then a complaint to whoever installed it, I guess local authority.
I have mentioned here before that our local authority claim they have no money for continual repairs to potholes, yet they have an abundance of money for installing speed humps.
Why not use labour and materials to get the roads flat before putting down bumps? Or is that too much like common sense?0 -

Sorry, but the pictures of the speed hump seems to indicate different roads, because I cannot see a grass verge to the immediate side of the road in the first picture.
Has your car been customised, including having lowered suspension?0 -
Why did I bother answering this, please look at Mr Trolls previous posts.
That is five minutes of my life which I will never get back again.0 -
Im not sure what andygd is getting at but I would suggest if you have scrapped you have gone over the speedbump too fast.0

Think I agree with andygd on this one.
What is the first photo supposed to show, why has it been scribbled all over, what is he trying to obscure?
The second photo is a completely different location and shows a standard table top speed bump which is about as high as the curb and has a gentle gradient up and down.0 -
Speed humps are placed where there is a perceived problem with drivers not showing due regard for the surrounding area..[for example, residential?]
And applying excessive speed for the situation? [IE, not showing consideration for those who live thereabouts?]
A Local Authority responds to local demand, so at some point, local people have complained.
If one drives a vehicle with reduced ground clearance, one must expect difficulties when using the Public Highway.
This is a fact of life which has plagued vehicle owners since motoring began.
If ground clearance is an issue, consider finding out exactly what sort of manoeuver will mitigate the risk of grounding?
[but then, if drivers had acted responsibly in the past, traffic calming measures wouldn't have become necessary.]No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

I take it you've never lived on a road that had speedbumps installed because a local councilor lived there and thought it was a way of stopping people driving down HIS road then.
One day councils will become liable for the damage speedbumps cause to cars.
