Can I password protect Google Docs?

Im sure this has probably been asked here before- but I cant find it for some reason I cant search MSE forums on my Android phone or Tablet?
Can you password protect single documents on Google Drive / docs? Or can you set an extra password on top of your Google account for when you access Drive? I really like the idea of storing stuff there but what happens if your Google account is hacked, would like extra protection for sensitive stuff.

Two factor authentication. Then it doesn't get hacked.0 -
You could stick the stuff in a Winzip (or similar) archive and password protect that. Admittedly it's a bit unwieldy that way - especially if the zip file gets huge, but it's one way to do it.0

Can you do a web search on your devices? If so you will find many results relating to the password protecting of Google Docs documents - at a glance it appears not to be a built in function, but there are apps and other options that make it possible. Here's one example (I'm not recommending it, I have no personal knowledge at all of Google Docs).

Yes, or alternatively you have an app on your phone which generates a code based on the time and a secret shared between your phone and them. That works without needing to have any mobile phone coverage, which is handy if you're abroad.0 -
+1 for 2FA
Google Docs are private by default, if you need to share a folder or document you can do so on a case by case basis with editing rights or read only0 -
Thank you all!
I was hoping to be able to put a password on a particular document so that I could still view it / modify it on different devices?"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's
