Hi, just wanted to say welcome and lots of luck with the new job :)

    Thanks for stopping by. :D

Payday from old job today so $250 to the House Deposit Savings which brings us to $6481.48.

Was hoping to get my annual leave paid out this week but that didn't happen. Maybe next week? Probably a blessing in disguise as it might be a couple of weeks 'til I get paid from new job.

Have updated my spreadsheets now off to update signature.

New job going well but I forgot how difficult it is to learn so many new things, though getting good feedback so must be doing okay.

  • Yet another exhausting day of learning at work. Bring on the weekend.

Returned an item to the grocery store as the formula was different/weird and I decided that I didn't need it anyway, forgot to bring correct receipt with me. Cashier ended up just giving me a refund card for the item and it scanned as $20.91. It must have been on special when I bought it as I swear it was only $16 or something. So I actually made money lol.

I'm not complaining, that's $20.91 into the House Deposit Savings which brings it to $6502.39.

Now off to update my signature.

Good luck with your new job and you are doing great at saving so much already at such a young age.

Where in Australia are you? I'm from Australia originally but have been living in London now for 9 years and hopefully will be buying my first place this year. It's a long and drawn out process here and I've been looking for over 12 months now but looks like I'm finally close to buying my first flat.

I am in rural QLD. Good luck with buying a place :) I can only imagine how difficult it must be to actually choose a place. Do you have a diary? Would love to read it.

Well good news today guys, my new job is offering me full time hours as they are having trouble finding a replacement for a girl who is going on maternity leave. It's not set in stone, more of "you can do full time until we find a replacement but we probably won't find a replacement." My boss also asked me if I would like to do some training. I won't mention the exact position as it might give me away but it's more the type of role where you open accounts for people, do credit cards and personal loans, etc. So so excited!

I don't have a diary yet I'm hoping to start one once I finally have the mortgage. I actually found the place a year ago and have been renting it for about 6 months but there's been lots of issues with trying to buy it due to a loft conversion that didn't have planning permission or building control sign off but it looks like we are finally getting close to having all the paperwork together to finally move forward with the sale.

Congrats on getting offered the full time hours, that will definitely help with your savings goals.

Hope the house works out for you, it sounds very complicated and frustrating. Please keep in touch, I love hearing from people on here.

In other news, I am re-doing my budget and trying to decide how much money to allocate to each savings account. I think this will probably be the most I have ever made per week in my whole entire life.

On the home front, my mum and her 'partner' are splitting up so he is moving out. I don't mind as I really have no connection to him (just put up with him for the sake of my mum) but it will make finances a little different so I will be contributing some more which is fine as I am on better money.

  • Kind of a boring Saturday.

Went grocery shopping. Was going to go and see a movie tonight with my mum but decided not to as I can't justify the $$.

Was lazy and didn't do half of the stuff that I wanted to get done.

Spose I should go and put on a load of washing.

Kind of feeling a little depressed today/in a state of existential crisis.

My goal is to buy a house one day but I could never buy one here as the housing market is such a mess and what is worth $500k now could be worth nothing in a year.

Thing is I don't know where else I would go. I suppose I have an idea of one town/city that I like but not sure I would want to be there on my own.

  • Got paid out my unused annual leave from previous employer so have chucked $545.32 into the House Deposit which brings it to $7047.71.

Off to update signature and my spreadsheets.

    :T

Work is going well and I am loving this Monday to Friday, nine to five gig. I've never worked "normal" hours in my life so this is just so fantastic to me.

Well there's not much happening around these here parts today, just cleaning and washing and probably some ironing too. Have been messing with the budget again. Thanks to the awesome spreadsheet I've decided that it's possible for me to cut my personal spends back by $100 a fortnight and put it to the House Deposit Fund instead.

Had $150 of unused personal spends saved up so that's going straight into the House Deposit Fund, which brings us to $7197.71.

    :money:

And just for the heck of it, I think I'll post a to do list for today, to keep myself motivated and all of that jazz.

    [STRIKE]1. Load of washing (clothes)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]2. Load of washing (sheets)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]3. Change bedsheets[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]4. Clean the bathroom/shower[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]5. Clean/vacuum bedroom[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]6. Ironing! + Fold and put everything away[/STRIKE]
