Card transfer on closed/barred accounts, any advice?

Hi folks, i'm hoping someone on here will have been in a similar situation to me and be able to offer decent advice.
I have 2 credit cards with around £4000 between them. However they have been "closed" or deactivated/frozen due to missing payments etc . This was several years ago (approx. 6) when we were really struggling with bills. Subsequently I am now stuck paying 24.9% and 21.9% on cards that I cant use.
I realise its entirely my own fault and I should have managed my bills etc etc BUT, we couldn't heat the house, feed the kids AND pay credit cards at the time, so they dropped to the bottom of my priorities list.
SO, are there any cards that I can transfer to now that will give me a decent chance of making a dent in the balance and will accept a transfer from a closed account (MBNA and Barclaycard are the current providers).
My credit score is 960 odds on Experian and i'm just sick of watching most of my monthly payments go on flippin interest!!
I know the sensible thing to do is to manage my money to pay off the highest interest rate first blah blah, BUT a transfer to 0% would be a total blessing if possible, and would make life a lot more comfortable for us as a family.
Cheers for any advice folks.!

My advice would be to apply for one and see what happens. Its possible you won't be offered a 0% card at all due to your previous missed payments and credit history. Don't take any notice of your credit score.
If you are declined for one, don't apply for any more.0 -
Are your debts still with the original credit card companies? and you can still make a manual payment for whatever amount through say online banking and entering your credit card account number?
If so then you should be able to do a transfer from any new 0% card and the fact that your old accounts are closed to new spending would not affect that. The only transfers you wouldn't be able to do would be from the same card providers as your existing cards.
In terms of where you might be accepted - you could try this link for an indication - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/balance-transfer-credit-cards#eligibilityA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Www.creation.co.uk or try for the asda card which they issue.
Another option could be a mbna card, then get a money transfer to your bank account which you use to pay the high arp cards offI have a deep burning indifference0
