Consider what you want from it.

Steel body heats up much faster but cools quickly when burnt out.

Cast iron heats up slower but retains the heat for longer.

I was recomended a 5-6kw stove however wanting to sit at a comfy 25c opted for a higher one and didn't regret it, gets hot quickly and when too warm open a door and the heat flows upstairs.

Multi fuel is handy the smokeless is available most places and some are poor quality and some are very good so shop around, Wood you will need plenty of it and if you can sort your own out like cutting and splitting this will save you money.

Keep it covered so air can get to it and you will be ok.:D

Not an expert, and so just my personal opinion, but we have just purchased a Morso Badger 3142 convector. We felt that the extra price tag was worth it. The efficiency is great, and although we considered clearview, I am not sure they have moved on their design/engineering in the last few years, in that their efficiency figures were well below that of the Morso. I also like the look of the Moso. It's like all these things it boils down to budget. Get the best you can afford.
