Damage to property during delivery

I sympathise OP but as this appears to happen regularly with deliveries I'm surprised these companies refuse to deliver inside a house.
Given the state of my floor I wish they had just put it in the garage. They could have used a sack barrow or used the cardboard the fridge was in or used the back door as I suggested. I have little sympathy but equally I have read some horror stories of idiots ordering goods just to claim damage and get new items.Officially in a clique of idiots0 -
Just by way of update I've agreed a cash setllement with them today. The quotes came in at around £1400 to £1600 but my husband (who is a joiner and provided one quote) wouldn't have been permitted to do the work as it needed to go through their insurers. We've agreed to £700 which covers the cost of materials (floor, skirtings, kitchen end panels) and I'm happy with that.Officially in a clique of idiots0
