  • You have given her a reason on a plate. Using offensive language and threatening someone is certainly grounds for instant dismissal although you were in your eyes justified. The plain truth is that kind of behaviour is not acceptable at all.

You are only entitled to be paid up until dismissal
Great! So the fact she is my ex means nothing?

The employer should still follow procedures even if something has been done that would warrant a dismissal, ie disciplinary hearing with the right to state your case. Sacking someone on the spot after 10 years service could leave them open to employment tribunal.

Suspending them and sending them home at once, yes, but I dont think dismissing someone on the spot (particularly as she seems to have done it on her own without consulting with anyone else) is the best way to proceed, regardless of whether the person is guilty or not.

No, you threatened her and the fact that you had been in a relationship makes no difference to that. In fact if she were inclined she could have called the police

I think you should have a look at your contract of employment and the ACAS website with reference to disciplinary and dismissal.

But youve not done yourself any favours with your behaviour, way to end a decent job in 5 minutes flat.

The only witness is a romanian kp and he would do anything for a tenner so she has probably got him to side with her.
  • In hindsight you probably who have been batter off not saying you were going to put her in the deep fat fryer.

Yes because there is going to be some hatred on one side. Her side. I'm just so in shock right now i can't believe this happened.
