I just got instant dismissal from work for gross misconduct. I worked in this quaint country hotel as a chef for the last 10 years since i finished college. In may last year i took over as head chef and achieved a rosette.
For the last few years i have been in a relationship with my GM. We broke up 3 weeks ago and today she sacked me simply because she is hurt by the fact i left her for someone younger and not as grumpy. Citizens advice are not answering the phone so can anyone here advise me? I signed a new contract in september last year which was for 18 months. Can i still get paid for that?

What is the gross misconduct, you dumping her or something else?0
-
What has she cited as the official reason for dismissal?0

How long have you actually worked there with no break of service? You mentioned signing a new contract last September for 18 months, so presumably a fixed term contract - was there a break of service between the previous contract and this one?
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
The reason is dumping her but... Shes been really needy texting and calling all the time etc anyway today she come up behind me and put her arms around me and was asking me to just come talk to her at her house tonight. It all got to much for me to take and i snapped. I told her to get her f****n hands off me and get out of my kitchen or i'll stick her in the deep fryer. That is why she sacked me but i had reason to be so angry at her.0

I would suspect that threatening GBH or possibly murder could be classed a gross misconduct.0 -

I think you have played into her hands....0

You have given her a reason on a plate. Using offensive language and threatening someone is certainly grounds for instant dismissal although you were in your eyes justified. The plain truth is that kind of behaviour is not acceptable at all.
You are only entitled to be paid up until dismissalLost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
