If you don't mind that would be great. I would like to know how convenient they are when you are out and about? And how does she find the washing?

I have been doing a brief bit of research on using reusuable nappies, does anyone have any advice or opinions on them?
I used reusable nappies for my daughter and you soon get the hang of it. I think they were called MotherEase - they had poppers rather than having to use pins. One size but over time I think I had to buy bigger wraps (the waterproof layer that goes over the top). She is 12 now so I have forgotten a bit
Some of my friends thought I was mad but I couldn't bear the thought of all the landfill and they are much cheaper too. Take a look and see if you have a local nappy library - they didn't exist 12 years ago but things have improved.
You need a bin to put the soiled ones in till you have a full load - and you will need at least 10 nappies. You put a flushable liner inside the nappy to catch the solids, then have the towelling bit, then a waterproof wrap.
The one thing I do remember is that it was a mistake to try and use them from day 1 - her bottom was just too small, plus there are enough pressures on a new Mum without getting to grips with this too. Use vouchers in Bounty packs etc to get the early size disposables. Newborn poop is also pretty yuck!!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Hi MallyGirl
Thanks for your input. I had read that it may be tricky when baby is first here, so I was thinking along the same lines as you with regards to using disposables at the start, and then once all is settled down then moving onto reusables.
Did you wait till baby was here to choose the brand of reusables? I don't want to buy a set and then find they are not suitable or baby doesn't like them.
We don't have a nappy library near us which is a same as I would really like to start looking.
Also do you know of any shops that sell reusables so I could have a look at them before I decide for definite.October make £10/day currently £11.020 -

In money saving debt busting news, I have had my remittance advice from the freelance job, so money should be in account before my loan is due out! Hoorah, this means I can meet the loan payment this month and also pay another bit of the FD CC. All the figures will be updated once these payments have been made.
I have been cheeky though and already updated the spreadsheet and snowball to reflect these payments. I cannot wait till the 10th when these will be the balances on my accounts.
I know that the advice is not to save whilst in debt, however, whilst I am pregnant I have decided to put £50 in a savings account for the next 6 months, so I have will have £300 saved for when baby arrives. I'm hoping that this will be enough to get us going with any unexpected costs.
I am already looking round for the cheapest costs on all things that I will need, plus I am researching what baby will need as apposed to what the shops think we need!
I am so lucky that already I have had offers of maternity clothes, my auntie has bought two baby grows and a cardy, plus she has knitted the most gorgeous shawl. Then my nanny got me a lovely two piece outfit. This baby is going to be so spoilt.October make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Hello!!
Just a quick post as I really must start making tea, but well done on the diary - loving the title!! And congratulations on your bundle of joy to be, I'm expecting bubba number two next week!!
I will pop back tonight as I am a total convert on the reuseable nappy thing, I LOVE mine
I know a ton of people who also use them and between us we use all different brands so I can definitely help you, I'm so addicted!
Oh and I'm also 33, I've been in debt since I was 18 and my DS was the cause of my lightbulb moment too - you can definitely do this!!

Hi daisystar.
Thanks for stopping by! I am really looking forward to hearing all about your thoughts on all thing baby, it's a mine field out there! I don't want to get sucked into spending £££ on things that I just don't need. My problem is at the moment I don't know what I need or don't need!!!!!
Isn't it funny, that although I have been trying (or think I'm trying) to get debt free, it's not till now and being pregnant that I'm really on a mission with it!
Catch up later. xxxOctober make £10/day currently £11.020
