They're corrupt, they just hide behind a logo and the NYSE like all the other puppet masters making y'all buy a tv for your dining room and a coffee which costs more than a litre of petrol.

You mean that they are a business, and they want to make money. How is that necessarily corrupt? Pretty much every business, shops, insurance firms, car salesmen, theme park, football club, oil magnate and farmer wants to make money.

    No I don't work for a bank.

I am not a puppet. If I buy a TV it is because I want a TV, and if a cup of coffee costs £3.40 then I possess the mental capacity to choose to buy it, or not.

You just haven't fallen for it them.

Good for you. Most companies are not corrupt. However the 'too big to fail' banks have control and can do what they want.

Thanks, its very much a question of ethics. All I want is to switch my ba amex plus card to a be amex card but concerned that if I apply for the normal one and I'm rejected they will take away my plus card

Why didn't you just say that in the beginning?

Just call Amex and ask them to downgrade. No need to apply again. If they ask why, say that you don't find the benefits worth the fee. They will not ask you about your job. (Hopefully you have not spent too much this year, otherwise saying that would make no sense)
