great responses guys, cheers.
I would much prefer to travel by train / bus / car as I'd love to see as much of the country as possible. I just hope I can convince everyone else to feel the same way. We're meeting up at 5 today so I'll show them everyones' responses and hopefully we can get something sorted.
The only problem with driving is that certain states have a minimum age of 25 to rent a car (or so I've heard) and we're all 21/22.0 -
You will be able to rent but virtually every rental agency charges surcharges for all drivers under 25 which can make renting an expensive option. You need to look carefully, particularly if you intend to share the driving and therefore get hit by some companies with a surcharge for each driver!0

I am a huge fan of the USA and I have travelled most of it. I like to do the stuff most people do'nt so I have never been to Orlando. Las Vegas is good especially as a stop off place as has great shopping and is good to use to go on day trips to Hoover dam and the Grand Canyon. My fave place is Atlantic City in New Jersey. You have all the casino hotels on a smaller scale, a marina. Abescon light house. The boardwalk along the sea is great fun and of course there's outlet and high end shops. There's even a small water show. Not only that you are only 2,hours away from Washington, D.C. Which has great free museums, Boston. Philadelphia and New York.0
