    Overall not bad rises IMO.
Will have to work on getting my airmail letters under 20g though, occasionally they stray a few g over, and the new prices mean almost a pound more, not paying that!

I still haven't forgiven eBay for fees on postage, so to send a slightly fattish item through the post (think pin cushion or small teddy), you are looking at £3.20 plus eBays fees on it, 32p before you start working out tax and everything else.

Would vacuum packing work? some of those food bag sealer machines also suck the air out and some are not that expensive.

So these small items of little value which tend to work on volume, there is a point where the extra work of airmail, CN22 forms, the prospect of no claim if it goes missing, and adding the throughput of money for airmail postage through your turnover affecting which side of the VAT threshold you are, all add up to mean it's just not worth it. Keep doing the local volume and let your competitors deal with all the carp.

I already post internationally, complete CN22 forms and get proof of postage to claim for losses, of which there are very few.

I am well below the VAT threshold, and don't have competitors for many of the items I sell. If someone wants one of my items, they can't go elsewhere.

Yes. I imagine they've seen a reduction in business with carriers offering cheaper rates for up to 2kg.

yup, they are well aware they cocked up.
I was chatting the other day with a guy from the Parcel strategy Dept.. They are looking to get some of the business back.
New guy in charge has some plans in the works and it looks like some good will come of his appointment
