    40khz refresh rate is way to slow and cant be good when used for long periods. whats the monitor like that you are using, My work screen is set to 60hz and 1280x1024 on a 19" Hp lcd screen.

    Reckon the settings have been set to the lowest settings, so maybe need to start tweaking settings to find something comfortable.

    Just to say " Thanks " for all the suggestions and help :)
    It turned out to be the mouse hardware behind the problem and when I changed the mouse " Bingo " No Flicker or Jumping !!
