POPLA delays?

Just wondering if there are big delays at POPLA?
My appeal was supposed to be heard around 4th February according to the letter POPLA sent me back in December but it's now the 26th and I've had no communication from POPLA.
Neither have I had any evidence pack from the PPC which I thought I was supposed to receive in advance.
Thanks.

That is probably good news as parking companies are not sending packs to popla, in fact they are not using it enmasse it seems. They just pay and don't bother when they cannot overcome the loss.
So be patientWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Or email POPLA and ask if the PPC haven't bothered to defend because you haven't been sent your copy of the evidence yet.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Definately contact popla just in case the evidence pack has gone missing. I would phone, the send an email so there is a back up record.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0

Cheers - I'll do that.
I'll post the outcome.0 -
I am having exactly the same problem.
POPLA ruling due on or around 01-02-2014.
Contacted POPLA saying I had not received an evidence pack ..... Turns out, neither had they!
Still not had a verdict. Are they giving them more time to produce something?
Maybe we should start keeping a list of companies who don't follow through with POPLA.
My case involves Met Parking at GatwickThe word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]0 -
It seems that the PPCs are now reluctant to spend the minimum wage effort of sending in their evidence packs (which if their charges were valid would be trivial to do). POPLA need to be stricter in enforcing the PPC timetable and automatically upholding the appeal if the PPC does not respond to timetable.I am having exactly the same problem.

POPLA are stuck between a rock and a hard place. There is clear evidence ( but not postable evidence ) that some PPCs are so annoyed at POPLA ( and in some cases the BPA ) that they are ignoring POPLA. They issue the code to fall within BPA CoP but there's nothing that says they have to defend it.
If POPLA enforce time limits I would think their life span will be reduced from the already short one they have."The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0 -

As I was saying elsewhere, what PPCs want is access to DVLA and if they have a way of rejecting a first appeal without incurring a £30 charge, then conceding on further complaint to avoid over-aggravating and getting TS or others involved.
My guess is that the rule that really annoys them is having to give out the POPLA code with the first rejection letter.0 -
Clause 9.1 of the contract signed between London councils and the BPA on 23 Dec 2013 (finally!) states:
9.1 The Operator shall be sent a copy of the appeal application and all of the supporting evidence submitted by the Appellant. The Operator shall be provided with a period of 28 Days in which to submit written representations and/or evidence. The Operator shall be instructed to provide a copy of any such submissions to the Appellant.
Therefore anything after the 28 days should be disregarded otherwise the process is not fair to both sides (the motorist only has 28 days to appeal, which is strictly enforced)Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
I appealed to POPLA on 7th Jan, my POPLA appeal was due back on or soon after 11 Feb, and I only got the PPC's evidence pack through yesterday! I am planning to email them in response to the evidence pack but also put something about the delay.0
