Are BT correct to charge me more ?

Options
Briefly 4 months ago I moved from SKY to BT Broadband, Phone, BT Vision as their advisor persauded me it would be cheaper.

Initially I signed up to their rental, £15 broadband infinity 1 and some extra call packages.

The last three quarters the bills were £256, £195 and £205.

Its only now I looked into it ( MY MISTAKE I KNOW ! )

It turns out they upgraded me to Infinity 2 BUT the cost of this was £26 per month. Infinity 2 is 76Mb and we NEVER get that !

Also the BT Vision box is not good and keeps rebooting.

I have asked them to reimburse me for the three months extra broadband charges

Am I right to do that or just dreaming pink elephants. Surely they should have explained clearly any extra cost and even if I had agreed provided me with the speed advertised

As its a 12 month contract is there anyway I can get out of it

Thanks

Infinity isn't a fixed speed service it depends on your distance from the cabinet. As well as being capped to 38Mbps Infinity 1 has slower upstream and a monthly download limit.

    Exactly as you said.

It sounds as if Infinity 2 is costing you an additional £10 per month and if you have documentation that shows you agreed only to Infinity 1 then you might get that part of your costs back but taking £10 of the bills you mention seems but a very small part of your bill so you maybe need to look at what else is costing you so much.
