I am trying to copy a back up .tib Maxblast file to a brand new Lexar 64GB USB Stick. But it's not happening....
I know that things always hold less than stated and it says on the properties 58.4GB free space the file I'm copying is 49.3GB but when I paste I just keep getting the message "The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue".
I have tried copying some other files onto the USB stick and they work fine so it seem like just this one.
I'm stuck now - any suggestions please?
Thanks!

What file system is the stick formatted to? FAT32? If it is then the single file limit is 4gig
Reformat it to NTFS or HFS+ and you'll massively increase the limit but slightly limit which other computers/devices can read the stick. Assuming your a Windows user and so is your target then NTFS0 -

Where did you buy it from? How much did you pay?
The definitive test is to fill it up with lots of small files and see if it works.0 -
Thanks yes using windows XP.
I bought it from Amazon a few months ago so "should" be genuine?
It is currently FAT32 how do I format it to NFTS?
I have tried right clicking and Format but it doesn't give me the choice of NFTS in the drop down box?

right click on the flash drive in explorer, and quick format to ntfs -- this will delete all data!!

Long term Apple user unfortunately so cannot remember too well. Believe you can still do it in Windows Explorer (rather than the desktop) but things may have moved on since my day (saying that I did at least use XP, never seen windows 7, 8 or 8.1 even running on a machine beyond walking past one in a shop)0 -
Thank you both.
When I right click Format under file system the only option is exFAT?"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's"

exFAT supports files up to 128PB (petabytes) so certainly big enough for your diddy 49.3GB file
A PB is 1000TB and a TB is 1000GB0 -
Thank You All - Done IT!!
PC took over two hours to copy it onto the USB stick though yikes!!"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's"
