My contract is up and i can get a cheap deal with my existing provider but ONLY if I go through a website and purchase a new contract.
I have heard that number porting is only possible from different network providers. Is this correct?
I'm thinking of getting a PAYG sim and porting my number over then after a month porting it back onto a contract.
Any helpful information please. Thanks

Yes that's correct, and your plan is the right one. Port your number to a PAYG SIM, take out a new contract and then port your number back to your new contract.0
