Moving from BT

Options
I signed up to BT almost 18 months ago. I just called them to find when my contract ends and it does on 29th March so I will be leaving them then. I currently have line rental with them which is £16 a month and broadband unlimited which is £18 a month so I am paying £34 a month for broadband and line rental. BT are not very reliable with their connection and the prices are just crazy.

Can anyone recommend a good company to move to? Do I go with 2 different companies for line rental and broadband or the same? I am currently with EE for my mobile, are they any good for broadband?

BT manage EE broadband, have you looked at Sky or Plusnet
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • Oh I never knew that, thank you.

Was looking into Sky but had a few people telling me their connection is unreliable and speeds dreadful at times.

Good luck trying to leave BT. When you ring for the MAC code they put the hard sell on you to stay with them (their prices change depending on who you speak to but still do not match Plusnet) and they leave you on hold for ages. The first person I spoke to checked with their 'team manager' and told me that on my account I do not need the MAC code as the systems changed as of 17th Dec. Turns out they were just lying to stop me cancelling! Afetr speaking to another person to finally get the code after a long hold I am still unsure if my account is being cancelled as he kept telling me to sleep on things! I think there are underhand tactics going on. Also for no apparent reason I started to go over my limit every month since Oct and was getting extra charges.

Since broadband is exchange specific, you need to start with an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com for your available LLU options.
