I'm sure it does, but up here they just stand at the side.0 -

They've just taken off their armbands and are swimming with floats. I can't swim at all and I'm worried that any break in their lessons will have a negative impact on their ability. Its taken 3 lots of 10 lessons, lots of money that is isn't available, to get to this (amazing) point in time. If the pool complete the 4 outstanding lessons maybe a mutually suitable slot will become available. Maybe the children will be properly swimming in 4 weeks.
If it has taken 30 lessons for your children to just about be swimming with floats (ie: not swimming) then the lessons can't be that great."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -
Hi
Just a quick question are they in a teaching pool or a main pool where they are unable to touch the floor as learning to swim with arm bands doesn't help there swimming style as an ex swimming teacher mainly working with this age group the arm bands were never put onto the children in the lessons as they are unable to get the proper body position (just my opinion from watching alot of lessons as a lifeguard and teaching myself). But then again I was in the water with the kids either in a teaching pool or the shallow end of the main pool.
If I was in your position I would try the kids with a different teacher for the 4 weeks that are left and see how they get on. explain to the pool that if this doesn't work out you would like to place your children to the top of the waiting list for the old teacher if the 4 weeks doesn't work out. Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0 -

I think arm bands are a total hindrance and have never used them. They learn to swim properly in lessons and have a floatie on their back when playing (if they must).0 -

You could, but you do not know what the pool would do so you are speaking hypothetically with no real knowledge of what the pool would do.laineybird2000 wrote: »I've checked the other pools in the area. 12 month waiting list. This is their 4th bank of ten lessons. The imps are 4 and 5.
I'm not looking for compensation. But why sell 10 when you probably already knew you could only provide 6. All comments appreciated. I'll call them today and see if we can hammer something out.
Because maybe they did not knwo that the teacher would not be able to fulfill them at the time. Have you asked why the teacher can not make the rest of the lessons at the agreed time?
Its worth remembering that whilst they may not actually be directly employed by the pool and are self employed and their circumstances may have changed for whatever reason. It would appear a bit on sided but I suspect the others are correct. Perhaps the OP should not get all the money back but certainly more than the remaining lessons.
There must be some relevant case law somewhere on this, if only for interest if nothing else.
Why should they get more than for the lessons they are not using? I think thats the fairest situation for all concerned here and leaves neither the OP nor the pool out of pocket.Dont rock the boat
