Roamler

I've started using this over the past few days. Some of the unpaid tasks are a bit odd, but are needed to build up points in order to get paid jobs. I'm going to stick with it for now though - the banana task was easy to do and an easy £2. Shame that they charge an admin fee for getting fees when there's under £20 to be paid.
Yeah, but it's pence! I cashed out £4 and lost 4p- that doesn't particularly worry me. I just wish they had more tasks so I could earn £20 in one hit!Minimalist

I did one of the takeaway menu ones the other day and got accepted without any problems - there were enough level 1 ones that I got away not having to do the banana one to level up
There's two £10 ones sitting in my app but kind of in the middle of nowhere :-\0 -

I've recently started this too. I found the banana task ok, if felt odd taking a photo of bananas but I passed first time!
I've been doing all the free tasks too to go up through the levels (I'm only level 2 at the moment but not been doing it long) If I find I can't follow the rules perfectly or if the photo isn't quite right I make some notes in the comments bit at the end. I've only failed 2 tasks so far.0 -
Logged onto MSE just to let others know that Roamler is a waste of time
I dont think it's a UK based company, as correspondence seems a bit...I dont know, It just doesnt sound like 'natural' english if you get what I mean, like someone has just copied and pasted what they wanted to say into babelfish!
Anyway, that would be fine but problems arise as a LOT of the time the locations are completely wrong. If you try to inform them about it they say thank you but dont actually change anything.
Got to verify what everyone else has said on here, tasks are VERY pernickety! (Love that word) Just had a task rejected and i'm done with it. The task asks you to take a picture of lillies in tesco, but there arent any. I ask the manager and he says they havent stocked them for months, but there is no way to escape the window that says 'TAKE A PICTURE OF LILLIES' so...you're doomed to fail if there are none!
I tried to argue when it was rejected, that they had all the information they needed - They wanted to know if that tescos stocked lillies, it didnt. I took a picture of the flower area as proof and spoke to the manager specifically to ask. That wasnt good enough for them as they wanted a 'picture of your favourite pot plant' if there were no lillies ... :I
I tried to argue that to take a picture of my favourite pot plant (with no means to capture one online, it had to be a TAKEN photograph) I was already running out of time, and had no way to take a picture of a silly pot plant, so asked for some paper and a pen at Tescos and took a picture of a note that said 'No Calla Lillies available. I enquired. No means to take a picture of a pot plant'
...and it still got rejected.
Field agent and clic & walk are much better. Roamler is a huuuuuge waste of time!0 -
There were no calla pot plants in our store as well.
It had said if there were no calla plants there to take one of another potted plant that I liked , so as there were no other potted plants I took a photo of the whole flower stand and then a photograph of my favourite bunch of flowers.
I explained in the comment section there were no calla plants or any other pot plants there and why I took the photograph of the selection of flowers that they actually had there.
I passed the task and have been credited :j0 -
I passed the lilies task too with an absence of calla lilies.
I have to say that I like Roamler. I know I’m not going to earn much from it as there are not many tasks around this area, but I enjoy the creative side of it and I like the challenge of doing the non-paying tasks to aim to move up through the levels. I treat it as more of a social media because I like to see what photos others have come up with for their tasks. It’s not a ‘huge waste of time’ for me because I’m not spending much time on it at all. Today, Roamler told me I was passing a supermarket with the calla lily task and it was the easiest £2.50 I’ve ever made!
The fact that the moderators are not native English speakers doesn’t bother me at all and why should it? I’ve always found them to be charming and polite.0 -
Roamler is fun if you are out and about. I think someone in my area must be on a very high level or there must be about 5 Roamlers in my immediate area. All the flower visits get snapped up in no time.
The cucumber one is top notch, but I would stay well away from the mushroom and grape ones. I've had a few funny looks doing that one as you end up taking a lot of photos.
With the lillies and such like, if you can't find the said item, just take a photo of something else in the area. I always put in an explanation and all mine have passed.
Good luck all.0 -
I have recently started doing Roamler tasks. Some of them are fun !
Did banana task which was accepted (well first time it was rejected, so i re-did and submit). Today did a mushroom task.
Other unpaid tasks are fun at times too!ally.0
