I dont think they let you tax it or change keepers details without a VIC.

I've just ran a vehicle enquiry on the direct.gov.uk website and a VIC is required. I'm guessing this means my car is category C but I will confirm this with the insurance company tomorrow.
Is the VIC a legal requirement? Can I still tax the vehicle without it going through a VIC check?
If VIC is required then it's cat C, as post #10, if you still have the old V5 then you can tax at post office.

VIC is only £41. If you intend to dell the car in the future, then you will need it done.Never Knowingly Understood.
