Your second picture makes it look a closer fit. Do you hear any movement from it when you are driving, has it moved on the axle? Check for fresh rub marks.
If not and it handles fine, its just the problem of fitting non-OEM stuff that has wider tolerances than the original and you'll be fine.

I asked the same question on Corsa-C.co.uk and the only reply was "Looks fine tbh"

    That a proper forum then?
  • The spring pad sits at the top of the spring, it's generally considered good practice to replace the pads at the same time as the springs.

On some cars they are at the bottom.

Try http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk for all your Vauxhall weds they tend to have more proper mechanics and stuff compared to the Corsa c forum.

But not in the case of the vehicle that the question related to.
Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it

It sounds fine whilst driving and the springs haven't moved since I fitted them.

It looks much better on that second photo.

I haven't been to my car in a few days, but tomorrow I'll take a photo of rear springs so you can compare fitting etc
  • I decided to order the K Flex version of the same spring since it was only £12 delivered off ebay.

This is the old spring and it was fitted the way up it is in the picture

And this is the new K Flex spring

I cant measure the Greenline coil as its on the car but I will do this weekend.

What's everyone's view on how the new one in the photo would be fitted taking into account the coil sizes? I'd be fitting it as it is in the photo(slightly smaller coil at the top like the old).

And thanks Axel, that's very good of you.

I've uploaded some photos to flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/69488023@N04/

They aren't brilliant, and the dirt doesnt help see whats what, but the only differences I can see is that more of the spring is coiled around the part that holds them in,but then that may be the affect of ten years wear on them, and that the spring wraps tight.

Thanks Axial, that very good of you to do that. Your spring sure does look tighter around the cup than the ones I have fitted at the moment.

I've just ordered a second to match the one above and after measure the difference between that one and the originals, I'm confident when I swap over they will be a much better fit. Thankfully its only about an hours work.
