Well done.
£1.89+£1.85=£3.74-£2.00+20p= £1.94 - paid £3, therefore £1.06p for all three plus fillers?
Hobnob raisin would give you slightly more back (8p!), so would then be 98p.

I was reminded of this today, while thinking about fire engines (as you do; well, I do). It's a true story that will, hopefully, restore your faith in the goodness of human nature.:A Assuming it's being lost, which in ELITE-world doesn't happen anyway. So...
My niece, as part of of her school work, was doing some voluntary work at a local old people's home. She was a bit nervous before her first visit, but we reassured her that it would be fine, the old folk were just like normal people, maybe a bit forgetful that's all. Anyway, she loved it, and now visits a lot. (That's not the point of the story.)
But there was one old boy who just sat in his chair and didn't say anything. Never.
One time, her mum (my sister) picked her up from the old people's home, and she recognised this old boy, who had a bit of a back story.
Apparently, before he was in the old people's home, he was obsessed with fire engines and everything fire-brigade related. He used to hang around the local fire brigade depot (my sister worked nearby, that's how she knew him), not causing trouble but just making a bit of a nuisance of himself. So, instead of calling the police or involving the authorities, have a guess what the local fire brigade did? (This bit is brilliant. You'll never guess.) They had a 'retirement party' for him!:D All the local brigade turned out, invited him along, the station commander made a speech, thanked him for his many years of service, presented him with a long-service award, and 'officially' retired him.
He went away as happy as could be. That was the last they saw of him.
The postcript to this is that, after my neice was told this story, the next time she visited the old people's home, she went up to this old boy and said "You used to be a fireman, didn't you?" ... and then she couldn't stop him talking about his fire-brigade experiences
.:A
That's a great story! :T
I used to work in an old folks home and there was an uncommunicative guy there. I asked him if he'd ever been abroad and he nodded, saying "Germany".
Never got an other word out of him and the other staff were amazed he'd said anything at all; they hadn't heard him utter a word for years. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
