    Bedtime cya all tomorrow
  • Oh poop - found the screwdrivers and had a go at the socket. Started to unscrew but the whole lot is coming away from the backing box, so I tightened the screws up again - sod it I'll wait till the engineer turns up the morn (surely they won't not bother for a second time).

That does not sound right :eek: Hope the engineer turns up for you in the morning! By the way, was not suggesting you did anything you should not, it is advice you should have been given by BT CS! IT is common to be asked to check the test socket.

It has been happening for about 10 months now, off and on. First of all thought it was the phone so bought a new one, same thing happened. I am thinking though after what you said the other day that it might be on the callers end and not here.

If it starts up again I'm going to call Sky. My other problem (with tv is still ongoing) would you 'adam n eve' it, the ruddy cd/vhs recorder is not working, so I need to look for a new one. That will have to wait until we get back from holiday :)

That is a nuisance. Seems strange though, I would have thought it would be the signal with it being intermittent. If there is any problem with damp or anything though it may well have resolved itself once you are back. Hope you have a lovely time :D
