Unpaid parking charge notice

Hi, sorry but this is a little long winded but i will try to give you the full story.
I have read some of the posts about parking tickets issued by private companies. I have some similarity with them but still would like some advice if possible. The details are as follows,
letter received dated 28-01 2014 from Roxburghe re: unpaid parking charge notice ("PCN") Their clients name, details of car reg and car park, ticket number and a issue date in November.
It then says parked in an allocated bay without displaying a valid permit or ticket.
Then various remarks about their client instructing them the driver has not paid. also its now to late to pay the discounted amount or challenge this notice.
Originally this was thought to be a scam as no parking charge notice had been received and there is always a ticket purchased.
Next a letter from Gladstones solicitors dated 12-02-2014 is received, stating original client on Roxburghe letter.
It say that as the parking charge has not been paid our client has instructed them to recover the total amount due to them shown above (£160) and that they may take legal action. to prevent this action, we invite you to call Roxburghe immediately to confirm your proposals in respect of this parking charge. they then state that if a judgment is registered against you it can affect your chances of obtaining credit in the future.
This too was thought to be part of the scam but today 24-02-2014 a phone call was received the man on the phone spoke really quickly stating they were from ford (may have been misunderstood) and wanted to speak to me about ref number and gave a number. later it was noticed that this number is the one on the parking ticket paperwork.
I have two questions.
1) is this a genuine parking ticket company as it appears to be
2) is this something i should worry about.

Please stop being so easily intimidated, you/family/friends can tell people who phone to get lost you know! Read the sticky thread for NEWBIES and learn what your options are when too late to appeal. Unless you are in Scotland than I have no idea why you didn't in fact appeal and win at POPLA, as per our advice for the past year?!
So the first thing on a forum (apart from reading the top 'sticky' threads which call to you to 'please read these FAQs first!') would be to search for a keyword to find similar threads to read.Next a letter from Gladstones solicitors dated 12-02-2014 is received
Your search keyword is obviously 'Gladstones'. And you would have found this:

There, a letter template to respond to a Gladstones letter about a fake PCN - easily found with one search of one keyword. And you haven't told us which PPC you seem to have mistakenly been ignoring? If you got no letters before the Roxburghe one why not search the forum for 'Roxburghe' as a keyword too? Anyway you need to report the PPC to the BPA and DVLA as they went straight to debt collector letter, no Notice was ever sent. The NEWBIES sticky thread tells you about complaints.
And as that 28th Jan letter was the first one you got, you should simply appeal as Keeper as per the NEWBIEs thread first appeal example. The first letter is treated as if it's a Notice to keeper and is your cue to appeal. As keeper not driver, of course. As you will learn when you read the sticky thread. You should post the template appeal TOMORROW, 1st class, to Roxburghe and a copy to the PPC - which PPC is this? DO NOT DELAY THE FIRST APPEAL.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks to you all, will follow advice given here and see what happens.0

You are now almost at the 28th day since receipt of the first letter - can you appeal by email to this lot? If so send it that way (there is a template first appeal to copy, in the NEWBIES thread and it relates to any circumstances). Thanks to you all, will follow advice given here and see what happens.
Which PPC is this please?
Send the appeal to them by email if at all possible or online if they allow that. This is URGENT as you are about to be considered 'too late to appeal' which means they might ignore your appeal and the BPA won't step in if you complain, either.PRIVATE 'PCN'?
