Infinity is simply marketing - they will supply BB at the fastest speed possible, and you would then be recommitted for a fresh minimum term.

It does appear that the developer has been paid well to restrict your telecoms choice, so that's not BT's fault either. In your shoes, I'd suggest your LL by terminating your tenancy early is responsible for your additional costs.

I agree with Buzby. Your termination of services is due to third party circumstances beyond your control. So you have a chance of a clean break with no termination fees, but thats not guaranteed.

You contracted for Infinity at the current address-not at any subsequent address you might happen to move to within the minimum term.

  • Well, what an interesting turn of events.

Seems everything is being squashed after all. Thank-you everyone for your support, especially Sparx who seemed completely unable to understand that one sentence within BT's own website that clearly states if BT are unable to offer any of their services at our new address we will not be held to term.

The in-laws, who currently have BT services at that address (but not Infinity, not even in the area yet) had said under no circumstances are BT installing a second line. This was BT's last defence in getting us to pay that final amount.

So, it seems if BT really can't supply services to an address you really won't be held to term. Not your fault, not their fault.

    Result :p

You should be thanking me. If I hadn't grilled and wound you up enough you wouldn't of had the ammo to argue your case. :D Very lucky that BT let you off the early termination charge.

    Congratulations! :)
