ebay seller refusing to sell

Just started using ebay.
Won an auction on Saturday for 90 x Joy Factory phone chargers.
I was the only one to bid so they've come in at £0.99.
They also had a buy it now for £300 so was pretty chuffed to get such a bargain so soon into my buying.
Got a message from the seller today asking me to cancel the transaction because he's sold the items to someone else.
He's claiming another member of staff creates the adverts and put the items up for sale.
What do I do?

Dont cancel the transaction. Have you paid? If not pay now.
Your probably not going to get them but you can leave them negative feedback.
If it was an error then they wont do it again. And one negative shouldnt make much difference. But if they make a habit of doing it then it will soon show.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

All you can do is decline the cancellation and leave appropriate feedback and stars.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you for the replies.
The seller has refunded the money I paid even though i declined the request to cancel.
Is it basically impossible to get an absolute bargain on ebay then?
Looks like I will have to chalk this up and have a look for somewhere else to spend my pennies.0 -
You can't force people to sell to you but you can leave feedback and appropriate stars to warn other possible buyers and hopefully make them a better seller.0

Not impossible, but if you win an expensive item for 99p, i'd wouldn't get you hopes up.
My brother (who is new to the whole Ebay thing) won a pair of boots he really liked for 99p (boots worth around £50) and received an email from the seller shortly after saying that 'the dog had just eaten the boots' and the 99p was refunded.
He then won another pair of boots for an extremely cheap price a few days later from a different seller who claimed that the boots had gone missing since the item was listed.
Call me cynical, but....
Bit of a family joke at my brothers expense being that his first Ebay experiences were so poor, lol
I must confess, that i've been on the other end.
Before I realised all of the Ebay rule (thinking I could cancel an auction after bids had been placed), I mistakenly sold a handbag that retails for nearly £180 for about £20.
I tried cancelling the auction when I could see that I wasn't going to get a good price, but Ebay wouldn't let me. I notified the buyer and didn't send it.
Last week, my sister (who now basically controls my Ebay account for me) accidentally listed one of my items worth around £40 for 99p which it sold for!
This time around I refunded the buyer and still sent the item! (so completely free of charge).
I done this to get some good karma back, lol.0 -
You can get a bargain. I bought an item for £40. Didnt use it and resold it for the the grand sum of 99p.
Then i delivered it for free. What more could a buyer want?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I've repaid for the goods.

I have sold plenty of items for 99p so it is possible to get a bargain. I brought a wholesale lot at auction and part it was 200 phone covers. They were selling for £3 on Ebay but I worked out they were selling at the rate of one a week. Not wanting to spend the next 4 years selling them, I started them at 99p as my profit was in the other items. They sold for 99p + postage and I was happy to send them and get rid of them.
I wouldn't let one bad seller put you off though. Remember to leave appropriate feedback to let other people know of your experience.0 -
