Legit company?

Having read through this post immediately after placing my order with MrHighStreet, i was worried about how legit it was
I also read the posts that said it was fine, then the replies that criticised those responses and highlighted that the member had only just joined - it was a huge conspiracy
I was worried, i phoned my credit card people up and spoke to them, they said not to worry as i was insured (the whole reason i used the credit card...one person said they had used a debit!! would never do that as thought they were not automatically insured and the 'baddies' can wipe your account of your own money!)
Anyways - i can officially say that Office is installed on my Mac and running perfectly - though accepted i only just installed and opened up a couple of documents (i would also add that 1 document so far still loads up in pages and has odd symbols all over it, when i try to open in Word it says it can't)
I thought i would add my comments - first time i have EVER done this (i know people always say that but this really is - i do intend to review the hotel i stayed at on trip advisor but haven't done it and probably won't!)
I went through the purchase screen which took me to a shabby looking VISA approved thing - the one mentioned already - has 95 in title. It did concern me a little as never seen the like and it asked for my bank - as mentioned as i was using a credit card so just put Virgin!
Once payment complete, oddly i got an email they sent me saying i needed to activate my registration with the site.payment and i was informed within that email that if i don't, the download will not become available. So i activated the account -
EVEN MORE ODD - this required me adding my mobile phone number (which i already gave when registering) and they call the number and provide a PIN. Now i am thinking this is not good at all!! i have been had! i am a fool!!!
BUT NO - they did call me immediately but the number was USA so i hesitated - in the end I answered and was provided the code by automated voice. I entered the PIN and received a new email and i paste a section below:
* IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR PAYMENT *
+ You card was charged in US dollars for 113.65 USD. We charge a lower value (1.64 USD per GBP)
+ The total amount charged by your bank may differ due to banking and international fees. Those fees are out of our control.
+ The name on your bank statement will show up as 'Online shopping store'. The name will be different as we are using a third party merchant. If you have any doubts or concerns please contact us.
* PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BANK WILL NOT REVERSE THIS TRANSACTION *
Now i am genuinely concerned about the validity of the whole thing -
so i called bank/credit card - they confirmed the name of the transaction but it was for a few pounds more than the invoice - this was down to the currency exchange i assume (and was stated in the above pasted section of the email)
At the bottom of the email (the one where i have pasted a section above) - was the following:
Please confirm that you want to go ahead with your order by replying to this email. Once we process your order, we cannot cancel it or make any modifications.
We look forward to a reply at your earliest convenience.
this was really odd!!!
but none the less i replied saying all good, i want to go ahead
I heard nothing for a couple of hours - i went to bed
When i awoke this morning still nothing - so i emailed them using the customer service section of their website and asked where the link is.
THEY DID REPLY to this email within an hour or so of that but around the same time they replied i received the email with the link to download the file.
The KEY was in a section of My Account on their website (they also said this in my customer service email reply) -
So at the moment - i must say that i am pleased, do not seem to have been a victim of fraud, and am overall very happy with their service.
The link worked, i downloaded the full product and then used the CD key to activate
I am not saying this site is not fraud - merely wishing to highlight my good experience as the posts on this forum seem to paint a bad picture for this site and frankly is doesnt seem substantiated0 -
I am so glad i found this thread - i was about to order from Mr High Tech!
I have just had my fingers burned after buying a software 'licence' from an Ebay reseller who ended up sending me multiple product keys - none of which worked. i've now asked for a refund via Ebay.
So i thought I would order from a more legit source and found Mr High Tech. So glad I read your reviews. I'll be checking out the link above posted by Tealview. I don't want free software, I just can't afford to buy full cost software for my small business, and heard that Ebay resellers sell on volume licences that arent needed...0 -
I bought Windows 8.0 from MrHighTech in May 2014, worked fine, and was activated, then some 5 months later, due to a virus, had to re-install, then found out microsoft had blocked the key, and will not activate the OS.
So far no response from the seller. Feel I have been caught.:(0 -
Well I have to say that MrHighTech HAVE now sorted me out me out with another Key and so far its working fine. Customer service very slow but eventually worked.:T0

I have used them twice now, once in August for Windows 7 Professional, and this week for Office 2010 Professional.
Before placing the order in August, i did google them, and obviously found this website, which worried me with the credit card situation, so i closed the page with the order on it, to have a think.
As I had registered an account, and put the items in my basket, and gone through the checkout process (up to the credit card page), they must have seen this, as i got an e-mail advising i had not completed checkout (various companies do this - Amazon, Thomas Cook - when you are just looking for prices but they log who you are), i replied saying i was not happy using the credit card online, so they offered my a Paypal payment (as a direct payment), which i was happy to do, as i was then in control of card details, etc.
This week, i wanted Office, so i just e-mailed them asking about using Paypal, and they sent instructions, all fine.
So far, both bits of software have downloaded, installed and activated, so happy about that.
The Paypal payment gives these details for the payment:

I too found this forum after I had placed an order with MrHightec and as it was on a Friday night it gave me a stressful weekend. In the end all worked out ok so I thought I should add my comments to reassure anybody in the same boat. As I am old duffer the transaction did seem very odd but I suppose with the internet everything has changed. Is Mr Hightech sitting in his shared office in downtown Belfast? I doubt it, but he does exist somewhere out in the ether, after all he is high tech. They do respond to emails although sometimes a little slowly but who knows how busy they are. There payment system is a bit odd and gave me ebejeebies but my bank was less concerned than me and I got the impression it was not unknown to them. Most people on this forum, like me, have purchased software, it would be interesting to hear from someone who purchased some hardware. There must also be some entrepreneur out there who could explain the reasons for the odd procedure, I guess it gives them some protection0

Many thanks to the people who took the time to research and reveal these filthy scammers. :beer:0

Should have seen this as a scam but did not - but as my "scam" nerve had been tweaked by the length of time to it took to display the card transaction screen via 95gateway, (the change to us$ for payment to a company in Belfast made me stop the transaction).
Then a email came through an extra 10% off so I did what it said and accepted the offer and paid by PayPal and sent the transaction details to them, email shown below for win 8.1 pro.
