    which to me indicates that it is an interim payment and that's certainly what I would expect a solicitor to argue if the insurer says otherwise.

    Further (and from memory) I'm pretty sure the ABI has a rule that unrepresented claimants dealing direct with insurers can't be brushed off with the "full & final" wording if the insurer offers a too early settlement, something to do with treating punters fairly I suppose

    OP....As above, get a solicitor
