Double Fine, 2 Separate Cars 1 RK

Morning All,

Right here we go, bit of a newb here so be patient. I've read as much as i can on the forum, and slowly its blowing my mind with all the abbreviations what to do, change of law, ingnore or not.

So here's my story.

The wife was going to Morrisons to do the shopping, but had a funny feeling in her stomach about our unborn child so she decided to go to hospital which was only a short walk, i met her in the car park and left both our cars there whilst we went to the hospital to get checked out.

On our return we found the parking attendant placing tickets on both windscreens as we had over stayed our 2 hours, which really annoyed us and forced us to leave to car park without even doing our shopping.

Fine was issued on our Window Jan 18th, and we have now just recieved to Notice to Keeper Letter, now as both cars are in my name, i have 2 letters in my name.

Im very unsure with what to do next as both the letters are to me. What shall i do next?

thanks guys for any help

Treat each charge notice completely separately, even if your appeal is identical in each case.

    Hi and Welcome

Who gave you these tickets? And is it in England or Wales ?

  • While having a read: don't panic! Strange though it may seem, these overpriced tickets have no standing in law and this forum has a fairly standard procedure to get the tickets cancelled. In your case, you get your wife to waddle into Morrisons, ask to speak to the manager and ask for the tickets to be cancelled, using all her wicked woman's wiles (I don't know what they are but I'm agin 'em*) tears, threatening to give birth there and then etc.

Next you follow the tried, proven 100% successful means of getting the tickets cancelled. Don't ignore, but there are times to do nothing and wait. The "stickies" tell all - but free free to ask for clarification.

Did I remember to say Don't Panic! in big friendly letters?

An interesting one for your local paper perhaps.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thanks for the replies, and no im not panicking yet haha,

The People who issued the fine was Euro Car Parks,

I've tried reading the above links but to be honest im getting a bit confused.

All i gather is that i should send a letter appealing both fines separately, but not sure what to appeal against, do i need to mention the story about my wife n i rushing in the hospital.

You haven't said whether this is England or Wales, please answer as the advice is different outside these areas.

    Thanks

Okay read the sticky thread linked above, there is a lot of information there, but take your time and absorb what's there. This is not a race you have time to get an understanding of this scam

Correct me if I am wrong and it is somehow 'confusing' but last night I amended the 'Private Parking Ticket? NEWBIES please read this first' sticky thread to show ONE standard template first appeal. How is that confusing with one template first appeal letter to suit all circumstances where a person doesn't want to write their own (there is NO STORY to tell because that might name the driver by accident and will NOT win at POPLA anyway)! Also I have read your story before so am sure I have answered you already when you first got your ticket...did you have 2 cars parked there...yes? I have a long memory and you were already referred to the sticky thread weeks ago!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

appeal each ticket (not fine - ticket) separately to the ECP using the details as linked in the previous replies

not sure why you keep calling them FINES as you havent been to court , nor a judge either

they are just parking charge notices (invoices), so complain to morrissons as well citing the EA 2010 laws and insisting that the parking charges for both cars are dropped on the grounds that you had a hospital emergency to attend to at the time , also mention any shopping receipts for that day or any other recent days too, showing you shop there regularly

people will help you as you can see already, but nobody is going to do the jobs for you on your behalf , so you need to get proactive , read the NEWBIES sticky thread over and over until you get the idea, then do some work to get both tickets cancelled, including appealing both tickets to ECP as well, if necessary taking it to popla when the popla codes arrive

this is about research and organisation , which is what YOU need to be doing for yourself
