Morrison's half-price chickens again - £1.75 kg

All this arguing about who sells the cheapest chicken. What sort of life has the said chicken suffered to be sold for such a low low price.
And talking about community spirit. HA! If you had any community spirit you would be supporting your local shops, not the national supermarket co's.0 -

I don't know, but it's too late to care about that when it's dead!Deleted_User wrote: »HA! If you had any community spirit you would be supporting your local shops, not the national supermarket co's.
I am supporting my local community, the 270 locals who work at Tesco and the 83 locals who work at Morrisons.
Would you rather I supported 4 or 5 single shop owners who seem to be rich enough as it is, judging by their cars and the holidays they brag about. Or should I continue to support the 253 locals who are struggling to get by on not much more than the minimum wage.0 -

Your efforts are in vain. Supermarkets don't care about their staff. All they do is work them to the bone for not much money.
Also if you want to support the 270 Tesco and 83 Morrisons staff, you'd do a proper shop there. Not just a flying visit to collect a few loss-leaders.

I know, but the alternative for the staff is life on the dole with even less money.
I have no doubt they have looked at both options and chosen to work for a living, so I choose to support them.
To me it's a simple choice, make a few "local" shop owners richer, or make a few "national" shop owners richer and help keep thousands of people in work. I know most of them are not local to me, but I'm sure they are all local to someone, and they all have bills to pay and families to feed just like the people who are local to me.0
