Appeal to Talk Talk Rep

This is an appeal to the TT rep who visits these pages.
My daughter is your customer, thanks to the Post Office
takeover. Before they were taken over by TT, they received an upload speed of between 8 and 12 MBps. Now they are reduced to less than dial-Up speed. Appeals to your phone line simply result in a request for a Speedtest. Because the actual speed is too low to access the internet, this is not possible. All they get is the information that without a speed test, they cannot send an engineer. This is plainly a ridiculous "Catch 22" situation, why do that TT support staff not realise that it is impossible? Perhaps this is just a case of "by the Book" answering?

I can give you details of the line, etc., if you wish.

Please respond, otherwise this one ends up with Ofcom and another nail is driven into TT's reputation.
I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

  • The Post Office weren't taken over by TT. The Post Office had a commercial deal with BT supplying the service but it was very limited and the Post Office wanted to expand their broadband offering. With the BT contract coming to its end, the Post Office decided to change to TT as their broadband supplier. I worked on some of the back office software for the changeover to TT.

Line speed issue is mostly likely due to a poor/faulty line from the exchange. Posting up the router stats might shed some light on the problem.
