bath trap look ok? shame about the valves.........

bit of background........

mates done a plumbers course and wants to go pro, said id let him do my bathroom to get him started. hes fitted the bath and just finished the waste today.

just wondered if people think it looks ok?

If you try and empty that bath, the water will pour out of the overflow spigot, surely?

I would have thought the overflow pipe should have been fitted at this stage

for me it should be turned 90 degrees left or right

the way that it has been fitted the removable blank has been fitted facing the wall and i would prefer to see this fitted facing the front of the bath

yes you could get the whole trap off to deal with a blockage but it would be easier to just unscrew the blanking plate but the way it is fitted you cant do that

cheers for the replies. the overflow was fitted but removed for the taps to be tightened. the tubes in the bath and just needs putting back on

Is it only me that thinks there is a much easier way

Cut a hole in the floor , rotate trap 90 degrees

Too complicated, to many joints.

why on earth would you want the trap under the floor ?

I wouldn't want to undo the nut on the end if it's blocked & have crap going everywhere

Many baths have too little head room to fit a standard bath waste , hence the shallow traps,. The hole beneath the trap allows easier installation.

If you had a hole under the trap , place shallow dish under and remove the
trap and forget inspection plug. If you had a blockage , I would always remove trap for a through clean
Or am I just old fashioned?
