All feedback is appreciated thanks. Im going to seriously consider cancelling this account (Ryan Air C/card with Santander) Not comfortable being transferred to this consumer credit Ltd company. If it was being sold to another bank high street lender id feel more comfortable.

Santander actually sold all these accounts back in May 2013

All that is really happening now is some legal tidying up and SAV's decision to change their name to New Day

    Regards
    Sunil

Anyway they wont give me a bigger limit than £1500 and my other lenders give me 6 times that.

Just to clarify did you actually get a letter in the post on a Sunday morning?

I don't think even LONDON has this service yet?!

Yes. Their reputation stands above that of all others.

Hmmm yes ....I'm taking the alternative view.....thank goodness Santander aren't in control of any of my finances any more :rotfl:

A letter cam today to say my c/card account along with all Santander customers are being assigned to New Day Ltd!

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU ARE ON THE SAME BOAT PLEASE KEEP READING!

From a look on the net it appears New Day could be a company which helps people establish or have a poor credit rating, They are provide of Aqua Credit card etc.

My mortgage broker asked me if I took anything to do with Pay Day loans as this would cause the application to fail.

I am very worried that lenders would also take a negative view as to why im taking anything to do with a company like this and im looking at closing my account ASAP prior to the switchover.

I want to act fast before this reflects on my credit report.

What are your thoughts on this?

Yes you are correct, according to a letter I received today from Aqua, it appears NewDay Ltd are going to be a new name for Progressive Credit Limited w.e.f. 01 April 2014.

(The name is currently used by a newly formed company formally known as SAV Protection Limited, probably to safegauard the name until April. Note that Aqua is a trademark of a similarly named company, SAV Credit Limited)

It has nothing to do with Pay Day Loans lending as far as I know. (Perhaps a bad choice of new name by them, or perhaps an indication of their future business plans?)

Consumer credit comes under the remit of the FCA in April, as it's being transferred from the Office of Fair Trading. So bound to be significant market changes ahead if the Mortgage Market Review is anything to go by. One suspects that credit card lending will be far less profitable for banks.
  • just got a letter today aswell, aqua card formerly SAV is changing their name to new day ltd from 1st of appril.
    Aqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/5

Someone who banks with Santander is worried about the service they'll get elsewhere...must be a first?
Optimists see a glass half full :)
Pessimists see a glass half empty :(
Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be :D
