Having the same holiday every year.

We're currently debating going on holiday to the same place we went to last year. We never get more than a week off per year together, and a holiday can be expensive so we want to make the best use of our time and money. We had a great time last year, so we're very tempted to go to the same place again this year.0

As children we visited the Isle of Man each year, and loved it.
Sailing across the Irish Sea on The Lady of Manx or Mona's Isle, was what dreams were made of!
Have to say, as adults my family and I have visited North Wales a lot, it's all about familiarity and lovely places to see and great things to do.0 -
My parents go to Australia every damn year, same place, straight there, straight back, never having a stopover anywhere interesting. No sign of autism in either of them.
When I was a child my Nan used to take me to the Isle of Wight every summer, same place, same time, she wasn't autistic either.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
I'm convinced
It's not an autistic trait. My Dad definitely was on the spectrum- this is the man who was asked to check the pie in the oven - he opened the door, looked at it and called out 'yes, it's still there'. Many many stories and ways of behaviour I now recognise. But not this one, you've all convinced me.

Since I have been with my husband (29 years) we have never gone on holiday anywhere else other than Cornwall. He keeps saying about holidaying somewhere different, and ive told him I'm bored of it but we still keep going (we've even got a caravan stored on the Devon/Cornwall border.
He's not autistic. He just doesn't like change. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I like to visit different places, but my OH had an awful habit of wanting to go to the same place year in year out. This past few years though, I have managed to get him out of his comfort zone.

I have been back to the same part of Wales each year since I went camping with college friends aged 17. I don't always stay there now, just go for a day on the train.
My uncle travelled during the war then returned to Malta every year probably for 30 years! No signs of autism in him. ;-)0 -
We always went to the same caravan park in Great Yarmouth as kids, year after year, and always looked forward to going back. My husband went to the same guest house on the Isle of Wight every year when he was a child and since we had our kids we holidayed in the same caravan park in the New Forest.
