Having the same holiday every year.

We used to go to the same camp-site in France until the kids were 16 & 13.
It was clean and cheap, but, more importantly we met the same people who became our friends, year after year and they both learned French.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
We do this, go to the same place at the same time of year. Our normal lives are very busy and we both travel a good bit for work, so we want our holidays to be chilled and relaxed. So we arrive, settle in and go straight into our holiday routine. This suits where we are in our lives. My mum thinks we're crazy, she's retired and leads a very quiet life day to day. So she likes her holidays to be action packed

We've been to the Isle of Wight for the last six years running, and we've booked to go this year. We do vary our overseas holiday though!0

I personally don't, but loads of people do even nowadays, have you never watched Benidorm?! lol0

My parents go to the Isle of Wight every year. Same hotel, same people. They never meet up any other time, but all HAVE to go the same 2 weeks.
I've asked each year do they get bored and they always reply that they still find new places to visit! It makes them happy so that's all that matters.
When I was younger they used to take us to the same two places in Hants and Dorset. Mainly because some of their friends had caravans etc. I used to love going to the same place. Sitting in the car, singing holiday songs, (Cliff Richard all the way!) the journey was just as fun!
I like going to different places now I'm older - the furthest my parents have made is Spain! But Higcliffe and Mudeford will always have a fond place in my heart.
Other than crab fishing on the quay. Those lil boggers were evil!*** Thank you for your consideration ***0 -
We are going to same haven site this year as last just because we liked the site and area and it's easier than going somewhere differentHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Generally speaking I like to explore different places, but I know I'll return to mexico, I was there for a bit of R&R, so I didnt get to see everything I would like & need to return.
I also have a soft spot for the red sea riveria (Egypt) & turkey, I've been to both a few times.0 -
I know lots of people who holiday (or have holidayed) in the same place year after year, home and abroad. I suppose up until recently you didn't have things like Trip Advisor, etc... so when you hit up on somewhere you liked you stuck with it - I'm not sure it's quite as common now as it used to be. I know lots of people who have static caravans so go back to the same site afew times a year every year.
JxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I wonder if the Queen ever tires of Balmoral or Sandringham?;)0

A lot of people still do it now, but I think it was even more common in the 60's when I was a child. We went to the same place every year, during the same week and met up with the same people also holidaying same-time-same-place each year.
I agree, from about 1963 to 1969 we went to the same boarding house, for the same week each year. I loved it, it was near the beach, and that's all I was interested in.
Since 2001 I've been going on P&O cruises. Different ships to different destinations, but I like the familiarity of the on board atmosphere. When we're on board, there's loads of people who have been cruising for years, several times a year, so it still goes on these daysEarly retired - 18th December 2014
