Do Barristers advertise on ratedpeople as I may wish to consult with one..?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Closer. It's near northwich.

So it's all turned out well, didn't need to worry about conflict he's obviously not money orientated. Without me having to say too much he only asked for £20 for the stuck valve.

He said he hadn't explained it wasn't going to be a power flush but could do one and apologised. He'd told me the value of a power flush. But I told him I hadn't questioned his price because I'd seen a local groupon offer the week before offering it for £99. He acknowledged this and offered to do a proper power flush at only £100 when I want. Result!!!

    .

Getting a powerflush done for £100 would start alarm bells ringing.
At first it was £120 for a drain down, and now you have caught him out, will do a power flush for less???

It would cost about £35 for chemicals, and 4hrs min to do. So he is charging £16.25 p/h which would include his transport, insurance policies , maintenance of the machine etc. And Groupon ??? Sounds like a chancer to me imo. Ask him if he takes and checks water samples???

    Jane

No problem, but i would get another plumber to come and quote the job and ask their advice.
  • OP listen to what plumb is saying, you WILL NOT get a proper powerflush at those prices
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

I had a client with this problem, had to power flush the system. The boiler stayed on for long periods, wasting gas, trying to get everything hot, costing much more money than a clean system would and the house still did not get warm. The previous plumbers, however, were not properly equipped, experienced and more importantly they were not enthusiastic.
